Thanks for reporting this! A few things that often help the scan catch: find a well-lit spot without glare on the page, hold your phone steady and parallel to the page so the whole Filament icon and page number fit in the frame, and give the camera a moment to focus.
If it still won't respond, could you share a screenshot of what the app shows when you try to scan, and tell us which Filament edition Bible you're using? Your phone model would help too.
In the meantime, you can still get to Mark by typing the page number or browsing by book:
